Our Program

The College of Business Administration offers more than a dozen business courses that integrate ERP concepts and specific SAP training into the curriculum. Some courses are team-taught by professors from various disciplines within the College of Business Administration as a way of illustrating the integration concepts of ERP. One such course-taught by professors from the operations management, human resources, marketing, and accounting disciplines – utilizes the SAP software and database provided by SAP America that runs a simulation of a mock international company, Motor Sports International. Anytime a transaction takes place within Motor Sports International, it is made available to all areas-and in the classroom, all students-allowing them to see how the decisions of one division within a company directly and immediately impacts another division within the same company.

CMU and SAP University Alliance Program

In 1997, SAP America donated SAP R/3 software, simulation training database, and technical support valued at $1.1 million to Central Michigan University. Eight faculty initially received SAP training. Currently, fifteen faculty have received SAP training and in turn have trained other faculty in the college. Faculty selected certain courses and began to develop class assignments and exercises.

Philosophy

Our goal is for our students to have a more global knowledge of business operations as a total entity.
We're not training technicians, we're teaching students how to become better managers who have an understanding of how these enterprise systems work and why they are important.

1. Better understanding of the integration of business processes.
2. World-class information technology knowledge.
3. High employability.
4. Increased entry-level salary
